Welcome

Hill of Fiddes Windfarm

Welcome to the Hill of Fiddes Windfarm Website.

Hill of Fiddes is Broadview Energy’s first operational windfarm. It is situated on working farm land near Cultercullen, Aberdeenshire. Planning approval for the three turbine wind farm was granted by Aberdeenshire Council in April 2008,  construction began in July 2009 and the site became fully operational in February 2010. The 6.9MW wind farm has the capacity to generate enough electricity to meet the annual needs of up to 3,950 households in the region.  We are currently working with members of the local community to set up the ‘Hill of Fiddes Community Fund’.  This will fund community-based projects  with particular focus on  education and the environment. Broadview Energy will contribute £11,000 per year to the fund for the operational life of the wind farm.
